A new platform designed to connect landowners with hunters is set to launch in Australia by the end of the year. The initiative, called "Airbnb for hunting," allows hunters to book access to private land, similar to how Airbnb connects travelers with accommodation.

The platform will enable landholders to list their properties for hunting, while hunters can search for available spots based on location, species, and availability. Users will be able to view details about the land, including access points, rules, and any required permits.

This project comes after years of discussion between hunting communities and landowners about improving access and transparency. Many landholders have expressed concerns about unauthorized use of their property, while hunters have faced difficulties finding legal and safe hunting grounds. The platform aims to address these issues by creating a regulated and trusted system.

The idea was first proposed by a group of hunters and landowners in New South Wales, who saw a need for a more structured approach to land access. Since then, the project has gained support from environmental groups and local governments, who believe it could help manage wildlife populations and reduce conflicts between landowners and hunters.

The platform is expected to launch in late 2024, with initial focus on New South Wales and Queensland. It will be operated by a nonprofit organization working with both hunting and land management bodies.
