Nissan has confirmed it will introduce the Navara Pro plug-in hybrid (PHEV) in Australia in 2027. The model will be available as a dual-cab ute and will feature a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission.
The PHEV variant differs from the version sold in China, where the Frontier Pro uses a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine and a 4DHT hybrid system. In Australia, the Navara Pro PHEV will offer a more powerful engine and a traditional automatic gearbox.
This marks Nissan’s continued expansion of its electric and hybrid vehicle offerings in the Australian market. The decision aligns with global trends toward reduced emissions and increased fuel efficiency. The 2027 launch is part of Nissan’s broader strategy to meet evolving consumer demands and regulatory requirements in the region.
