Wolves have accused match officials of poor decision-making after Brazilian forward Duarte suffered a serious injury during a key league match. The incident occurred in the 68th minute of the game against Brighton, when Duarte collided with a defender following a challenge. Medical staff rushed to the field and confirmed the player was unconscious, prompting immediate emergency treatment.
Duarte, 25, was taken to a nearby hospital for further evaluation. Initial reports suggest the injury may involve a head impact, though the full extent of the damage remains under investigation. Wolves manager Gary Rowley expressed frustration during a post-match press conference, stating the team felt the referee failed to manage the challenge effectively.
This is not the first time Duarte has faced injury concerns. In 2022, he suffered a fractured leg during a match against Manchester City, leading to a six-week recovery period. His current condition is unknown, but Wolves have not yet announced whether he will be available for the next match. The club has also called for an independent review of the incident, citing concerns over player safety and officiating standards.
