A car struck a group of people near a road used to farewell the Newcastle Knights ahead of their NRL grand final. At least six individuals were injured in the incident. The crash occurred as fans gathered to celebrate the team’s journey to the grand final.
Emergency services were called to the scene and provided medical assistance. The vehicle involved was stopped, and no one was reported missing. Authorities are investigating the cause of the crash.
This incident marks the second such event in recent weeks involving NRL fans. A similar accident occurred earlier this month near a different team’s farewell event. Both incidents have raised concerns about road safety during large gatherings. The NRL has not yet issued a statement on the matter.
