A co-pilot with ties to an Israeli intelligence agency is under investigation after allegedly trying to seize control of a FlyDubai flight. Israeli authorities are expected to question the individual, who is believed to have attempted to take over the aircraft during a flight from Dubai to Tel Aviv.

The incident occurred on a commercial flight operated by FlyDubai, a subsidiary of Emirates Airlines. According to preliminary reports, the co-pilot reportedly attempted to override the captain’s controls, prompting emergency procedures. The pilot was able to regain control of the aircraft, and the flight landed safely in Tel Aviv.

This is the second known incident involving a FlyDubai crew member linked to Israeli intelligence in less than a year. In 2023, a similar case involved a flight attendant who was later found to have ties to Israeli security services. Both cases have raised concerns about the vetting process for airline staff in the UAE.

The Israeli intelligence connection has not been officially confirmed, but authorities are examining the individual’s background. The case highlights ongoing tensions between Israeli security agencies and the UAE’s aviation sector, particularly regarding the screening of foreign nationals working in the industry. The incident is currently under review by both Israeli and UAE authorities.
