Chery has launched two new ute models in Australia, the Stockman and the Shark 6, aiming to challenge established brands in the market. The Stockman is positioned as a rugged, family-friendly vehicle, while the Shark 6 targets younger, tech-savvy buyers. Both models are available in dual-cab configurations, a popular choice in Australia for their versatility and cargo space.
The new models feature advanced safety technology and fuel-efficient engines, aligning with growing consumer demand for eco-friendly options. Chery, a Chinese automaker, has been expanding its presence in Australia over the past few years, focusing on affordability and reliability. The Stockman starts at around 45,000 Australian dollars, while the Shark 6 is priced slightly higher at 48,000 Australian dollars.
Chery's entry into the Australian ute market comes as competition intensifies, with traditional brands like Ford and Toyota facing pressure from emerging manufacturers. The company has already established a strong presence in other markets, including Southeast Asia and Europe, and is now targeting Australia's large and diverse vehicle market. The launch of these models is expected to increase competition and offer more choices for Australian consumers.
